Property - Lost and Found
Found property is held for 90 days, with the exception of bikes which are held for 30 days, while the police and Property Branch staff attempt to locate and notify owners. If an owner is identified, a letter will be sent advising the owner that they have 30 days to claim the property. To do this, the owner must bring the letter and photo ID to the Property Branch. Unclaimed property is auctioned, destroyed, donated or returned to the finder once the holding period has expired. Lost or stolen property should be reported to police, prior to contacting the Property Branch.
