The 2010 - 2012 Business Plan “To Be the Best” sets out priorities for our Service for the period between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2012. It outlines our performance goals in four critical areas of success – public safety enforcement, community problem solving, resource management, and communication. Our priority areas for technology and facilities are outlined in separate plans. As well, the 2010-2012 Business Plan has been translated into the following five languages: French, Chinese, Urdu, Spanish and Arabic.

Establishing a Hamilton Police Service Centre of Excellence was an initiative that was identified during the 2007-2009 Business Planning process. A goal was created in the business plan to reflect the Service's commitment to the COE. This study was conducted by McMaster University for the Hamilton Police Service Centre of Excellence.
