Two Hamilton Police Service officers demonstrate a commitment to the relentless pursuit of criminals after they arrested a break and enter suspect while out on lunch break jog along the Redhill Valley trail.
On Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at approximately 10:30 a.m., two Hamilton Police Service (HPS) patrol officers were on duty but on their lunch break running along the Redhill Valley trail in the area of King St. E. and Lawrence Rd. After entering the trail the officers saw a male collecting some computer equipment that was sitting in a pile to the side of the path. They confronted the male and questioned him about the equipment. The male was identified and was arrested on an outstanding warrant held by HPS.
The investigation into the computer equipment continued. It was determined that the computer equipment was taken from a business on Queenston Rd. during an overnight break and enter incident January 25th – 26th, 2012.
The Hamilton Police Service BEAR Unit assisted with the investigation and the male arrested was identified as allegedly being involved with further break and enter incidents and frauds. He was held for a bail hearing scheduled for today.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges are expected.
