Impaired Driving – Main St. W. @ Dundurn St. Hamilton
On Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at approximately 6:30 p.m., HPS responded to investigate a collision.  One of the drivers showed signs of impairment.  HPS conducted a roadside breath test and the driver failed.  The driver was arrested and taken to the station for a breathalyzer test.  The 48 yr. old Hamilton man blew over two times the legal limit.  He was released on a Promise to Appear with a charge of Over 80 mg.

Robbery (Variety Store) – 200 Jackson St. W. Hamilton
On Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at approximately 9:30 p.m., HPS responded for a robbery in progress at the Daisy Mart on Jackson St. W.  The suspect and the male clerk struggled.  The suspect attempted to open the register till.  The suspect fled empty-handed but was apprehended a short distance from the store by a responding officer.  He was arrested without incident and held for a bail hearing scheduled for today.

Charges:   Robbery and Breach Probation

Robbery (Street Mugging) – 674 King St. W. Hamilton
On Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at approximately 9:00 p.m., HPS responded to investigate a theft in progress at the Little Caesars Pizza store on King St. W.  A delivery truck driver had been unloading pallets of pizza boxes when two passers-by stopped him.  One suspect started swinging at the driver while the other took a package of boxes. They both then ran with the delivery driver in pursuit.  HPS BEAR officers and ACTION officers were in the area and arrested both suspects.  They were both held for a bail hearing scheduled for today.

                    Randy RUS, 23 yrs. of No Fixed Address
Charges:   Robbery

Randy Rus also charged with Breach of Probation.
