The Hamilton Police Service Break, Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery (BEAR) Unit is releasing images of a robbery suspect and is asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
On Friday, January 27th, 2012, shortly after midnight, a male entered the Big Bee Variety Store at 440 Cannon St. E. The male lingered around inside the store for a few minutes until the store employee asked him if he needed assistance. At this point the male suspect produced a knife and walked towards the clerk demanding he turn over the cash in the register till. The clerk opened the till and the suspect grabbed the cash and fled on foot in a northerly direction.
The Hamilton Police Service BEAR Unit is investigating and is releasing store surveillance images of the suspect. The male is described as: black, stocky build, 5'5" - 5'8", dark goatee, and wearing a blue jacket over a blue hooded sweater, blue jeans, white socks, black shoes and a red baseball cap.
