Great Moment for the Children
Recently, a mounted officer stopped by the entrance to our school yard, Green Acres School. As students noticed the horse, we began to go out to let the students look at and touch the horse. The officer stayed in place so that our students could do just that. What was surprising to me, was that the horse, Griffin, seemed to lower his head, or the officer caused him to do that, so that the smaller students could rub his nose. It was a great moment for the children, many of whose entire lives are limited to their apartment, the school and Eastgate Mall.
