On Monday, June 5, 2006 at approximately 9:55 p.m. James Surette was found laying on the side of the road on Ferguson Avenue, just north of Cannon St. E. He died as a result of stab wounds.
Prior to being found, Surette had been seen in a confrontation with a male with a darker complexion, could be described as Portugese, Spanish or Italian, short, close cut black dark hair, mustache, tattoos possibly on his forearms, muscular build, wearing army fatigue type pants. There may have been at least three other males with this male at the time.
Hamilton Police are seeking any information regarding the person or persons responsible for this incident, and are attempting to identify the male seen speaking with SURETTE.
Investigators are also looking for any information as the the whereabouts of SURETTE prior to being found, and if he was seen with anybody on Monday night, June 5, 2006.
