Hamilton Police Serviceto be the best

Male Chorus Logo

In September of 1959, a group of Police Officers from the Hamilton Police Department formed the first organization of its kind in Canada - a chorus of singing policemen.

Over the years the Chorus has proudly represented the City and Police Service of Hamilton at various public and private functions, both in Canada and internationally.  They have performed for two U.S. presidents, the Premier of Ontario, and have had the pleasure of singing for former Lieutenant-Governor Lincoln Alexander on several occasions.  Locally, the Chorus performs at seniors centers, churches, festivals, schools, sporting events and numerous charity fundraisers.

Today, the Chorus continues the tradition of enhancing the police image and bringing harmony to the communities they serve.

The Chorus is entirely comprised of active and retired members of the Hamilton Police Service, the majority of whom are patrol officers or detectives.  Most of the songs in their repertoire are performed in four-part harmony, a cappella, and include well-known rock & roll tunes and medleys from the 1950’s and 1960’s, old spirituals and hymns, and various folk songs, as well as the Canadian and American national anthems.

The Chorus appears with the kind permission and support of Chief Glenn De Caire, and is under the direction of Mr. Steve Becker.
