
Mandate
The mandate of the Hamilton Police Service’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Task Force is:
Problem solving about operational and administrative matters when they can or do affect the communities involved.
Liaise, foster and continue to promote positive relationships with the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender communities.
Improve the workplace climate and developing policy or programs to recruit Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender employees and facilitate a safe space for existing Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Employees.
In partnership with the involved communities, to develop and deliver training and education to members of the Hamilton Police Service.
Improve the awareness of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Task Force within the Hamilton Police Services and with our external community partners.
To advocate on behalf of the Task Force on policing related matters consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Hamilton Police Service.

The Task Force membership is comprised of members of the HPS as well as community members.
