This branch is comprised of: Community Policing Centres, Community Services, Crime Prevention, School Liaison, Seniors Support and Youth Officers.
Community Policing Centres

Community Service Officers
Community Service Officers are responsibility for delivering school-based lesson plans for junior elementary schools (JK – Grade Eight) as well as delivering youth safety and crime prevention education.

Crime Prevention Officers
Crime Prevention officers assist in the development of Crime Prevention Training Plans which are delivered at various levels with the Police Service. The Officers work in partnership with the community by managing community program solving and facilitating the delivery of community problem solving initiatives.

Crime Managers
The Crime Manager is the primary liaison between the community and the neighbourhood officers assigned to a beat. Crime Managers responded to community group and city councillor concerns, based upon geographic sectors. The four Crime Managers bring experience from various areas within this Police Service and are responsible for problem solving relating to recurring problems within Division Three.

Senior Support Officers
Senior Support Officers liaise with senior citizens in the community with a goal to reduce their victimization and fear of crime. The Officers work with seniors serving agencies and the families of seniors in developing and implementing strategies to improve the safety and security of seniors in our community.

School Liaison Officers
School Liaison Officers interact with teachers and students at each of the secondary schools within the Division, which includes public, separate and private schools. The Officers assist in investigating incidents on or in relation to these schools and identify emerging youth issues and deliver presentations.

Youth Officers
Youth Officers are “at risk” and “high risk” youth intervention specialists. These Officers have established networks and partnerships with varying youth serving agencies aimed at intervening and supporting “at risk” and “high risk” youth and their families. Their responsibilities include children under the age of 18 years.
